If he gave it to you then it is your car…I would not sell it if my life depended on it…of course if I even tried my dad would kill me.

Tell your dad you are going to fix it and then sell it.
Hence, I have not had time to fix it or

well there is two different ways to look at this. Your Dad may have gave you the car so that you could sale it and get money to buy a better car, but if you want to keep it then you have to remember that there is work that you have to put into the car to bring it back to its best shape. This doesn’t just mean time but also money and restoreing a car can cost alot of money. Also remeber that there are things that you start restoreing on a car that you must finish before you can drive it again so keep that in mind.

oooh that 307 is one tough engine, i had one in my 69′ malibu. when i got the car it sat-up thru seven summers and winters. i put a tune up on it and it fired right off, but at age 13 i didnt know that rust forms around piston rings and didnt free them up before trying to turn it over, thus busting the o-rings out of the pistons. it ran for 5 years that way, just had to keep a healthy stock of spark plugs at hand, lol.
and about those double hump heads you got, i believe those are pretty similiar (if not the same) as the 327 (300 horse) heads they used one the 327’s and those little special order firecrackers they put into those old impalla police cars. i had an old 67 impalla police car with a special order 283 with those 327 (300 horse) double humpers in it, man, for a little mouse it sure had some power.
and one more thing, if ya do decide to sell it, hook me up with an e-mail. all this talk about these old cars got me intrested. if you decide to keep it, then good luck it wont let ya down.
spudfarmer Said,
Restore it but turn the 307 back into a 283. That means get rid of the 327 crank. That was the worst engine next to the 305 that Chevy ever made. The 283 was tough and got good mileage for a V-8(about 18 mpg) and the 327 was a screamer. Our old 63 Belair did an honest 135 mph with a 327. The 307 is a cam eating dog.
