I just bought a motorhome with a Chevy 350 in it. The Chassis is an ‘89 Chevrolet 1-ton van. I have never owned a 350 and have no idea what octane I should put in it.
It should run on 87 octane, unless someone has done some performance mods to it…..

yeah put mid grade, it”ll run cleaner. and do a tune up.

normal octane (87ish) should do it.
if you can buy the better stuff reasonably you’ll get a little better mileage and it will help to keep the engine cleaner internally too.
also, if the thing seems a bit sluggish on hills or under load the super or midgrade should help with that.
good luck!
Eric B Said,
Higher octane does not equal more power or a cleaner engine. Higher octane levels cause the gas to burn slower in the cylinder. It’s important for high-compression motors to prevent predetonation and pinging, but unless someone has done a lot of work to that 350, there is no need.

87 octane is fine.
use whatever the owners manual calls for.
