I don’t know why people are complaining about lag? Those turbos are small enough to be spooling at reasonably low RPM – I mean look at the intercooler piping for them, it’s like 1″!
this car was in HOT ROD a few years ago
depends on what its made of on a 1956 studebaker 289 you could put a modern blower without building at all but that engine was all cast iorn but anyway id hit it
mate that is mazing, i cant believe how cool that engine is, an amzing job
I imagine it has 1 turbo per cylinder. This way you can use smaller turbos and get faster spool time. Still, it’s pretty fail because 2 decent turbo’s would make as much power.
its definitely impressive, but really, it doesnt seem to be at all useful. as was mentioned, you cant even hardly use those turbos without breaking. if you could even spool them… it just seems like a waste, since that had to cost a fortune and all those turbos cant really be used.
Criticism of the car aside – and I have plenty, believe me – what’s that song?
ok ok ok now just wait. It LOOKS good but how does she act, what are those things turned down to like 1 psi a piece or sumthin cause even with an all studded block and top end there aint no way they are turned up at all, you’d scatterblast your fortune.
Its called RESTOMOD people. Its a different style of restoring cars. We Americans are and always will be superior. Bow bitches!!!!
thats the best thing about cars man, they all look diffrent cause everyone has a diffrent point of view i agree with you cause i like tradional hot rods my self and the billet stuff is lame to me
BUT
imagine if everyones cars looked the same, it would be reeeeeally boring
its his car let him do what he wants to it
I’d really like to have a 57 chevy,but not this one.Its ruined.
I fail to see your point.
What is it with americans?Spending time and money to get a useless piece of crap like that, just to show off?And destroying a fine vintage car instead of restoring it or at least customize it the right way.
lol it looks like atoy but i know its real because i saw in a mag like 10 years ago
um hmm ahh ohh….um,im at a loss for words. just an amazing work of art that can be driven.
That is a feat of engineering…practical or NOT, still amazing.
And not one intecooler!
I remember meeting this dude a few years ago at a show in Carlisle PA. My dad and I couldn’t BELIEVE this!! It honestly was mind blowing. And yes, there were really 8 of them, each had low boost (I believe 4psi per turbo).
this would work fine with the right cooling and block
if you can buy a small turbo for a 1cyl motorbike engine then why not make it 8 cylinders with 8 small turbos
im sure the LS1 can handle it just fine
I dunno where you get your info, but there are plenty of biturbo LS’s going around. Leno’s Toronado, for one well known example. It’s the best way around for HUGE streetable power. 8 turbos, though……. I’m afraid he’s done the impossible and riced out a Chevy. I wonder if it has neon?
I saw this car in person at Carlisle. Very nice quality. Apparently when the turbo boots, its like a jet taking off. And yes the guy does drive it. For those talking about lag, before boost, the car is operating at its normal power level. Do you want your normal power band, or one that goes up suddenly.
umm how much hp?
Fark that music sucks and why have the shit so loud.
LS1′s can hardly handle a biturbo setup let alone 8, this would never be drivable which is a shame because the owner has done a hell of a job restoring it
