I’ve been restoring this 2dr Hardtop sport coupe Bel-Air Chevy since 1992. Here is the latest images. There is no front or rear windsheild. The interior only has the front seats finished. I removed the new AM/FM stereo radio for testing purposes. The stainless on the sides it getting ready to be removed so I have it polished. The color is the original Matador Red. I’ve installed original powerbrakes, powersteering, power windows & a powerpack 283 engine. I’ve upgraded to tilt steering and added Crager SS mag wheels. The car and I are located in Texas.

then americans and ppl all over the planet are gonna have to sell their kidneys and liver in order to resore thse BEAUTIFUL works of ART. BTY… this is the BEST CAR EVER MADE BY CHEVROLET!!!
What happens when GM goes under? It’s only obvious.
lol.. same here with my 1957 chevy belair 4 door i’m restoring and keeping it fully orginal. So far its down to the frame and got it all painted up.
I haven’t done anything else to it yet.
Too many other projects, and I ran out of money.
Terry
So how much more did you get done since then?
The first ci 265’s were either on ‘55 or ‘56 Chevy’s. The last ones made, were on ‘57 Chevys before they switched to a ci 283.

I read somewhere the first 265 ci were a light blue color, according to research done by CCI. not the orange red color.
The first group of ‘57 Chevy’s came with 265 engines. These engines were left over from 1956. Then the second group of ’57’s all had 283’s.
so did they come stock with 283’s?
Those 283’s will go forever if you take care of them.I have one in my 63 Chevy pickup, check out my vids if u want Buick61.
Thank you for sticking with the 283 and not getting a new crate motor!!!
that car was made back in the day when there was no plastic in cars. what a beauty
my aunt just gave us my uncles who just passed away 2 years ago a 57 chevy a 72 corvette stingray and a 74 jeep cj-5 i have plenty of restoring to do because they are not in great shape
Looks like you are coming along nicely, I’m about 3/4 done with mine out here in NJ. Love the guitar channels you are cruising - been pickin’ since 7y.o.
You get plenty of fresh air cruising down the freeway in this classic….
